Pu Sam Cap is being undertaken by TPJ under the terms of the Newmont Venture Agreement - its key venture partner on the licence.
The Pu Sam Cap area was previously the subject of overlapping Mineral Exploration Licence Applications by Normandy Anglo Asian (now part of Newmont) who commenced exploration in the area in 1992 and the predecessor company of VRC (PSC) who started preliminary examination of the area in 1996.

The area comprises of five new Mineral Exploration Licence Applications covering a total of 408 sq km. Two blocks comprising 154km 2 were granted on the 27 th April 2005. This is the first exploration license granted in Vietnam for nearly four years.
Pu Sam Cap is in a favourable geological setting of a triple plate collision and subsequent rifting. There are favourable rock hosts, with widespread high-grade gold and copper values in veins being mined by locals. Initial reports from the appointed Independent Expert suggest potential for bulk tonnage lower grade gold and copper-gold deposits.
Further reconnaissance field trips have demonstrated the widespread artisanal workings with localized high grade copper, gold, lead and zinc values.

Current activities include compilation of all previous work, including Normandy Anglo Asia, Vietnam Resources Corporation into a GIS folio. Once the wet season is finished TPJ plans to conduct regional reconnaissance sampling over the entire block using the latest techniques of stream sediment sampling and Bulk leach extractable gold (BLEG) with the assistance of Newmont who have considerable expertise in these techniques.
